Lesu will join UNITAID’s CANVeCT project, led by the Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID), to support the implementation of insecticide-treated baby wraps across various countries and settings.
Utilizing context-specific distribution strategies, this work expands on our evidence from Uganda that insecticide-treated baby wraps can reduce malaria cases in the young children carried in them by 66%, and malaria-related hospitalizations by 50%.
This is a critical step in building the evidence base to inform the future scale-up of insecticide-treated baby wraps to protect the most vulnerable children from malaria around the world.
